We’re going a little off course today because something really neat happened not just to Pickles, but to the humans as well. Our blogging friend Fostrickson (she of Mylo, Toady and Odin) nominated us for an Illuminating Blogger Award. We began Nap A Day as a silly little family project, and are continually amazed that not only do we keep thinking of things to add, but that others enjoy it. Thank you for coming back day after day, for letting us know how much you like the photos and stories of our little brown dog, and for sending in photos and stories of your own pets – if you haven’t figured it out by now, we’re big fans of canine mischief.
The Illuminating Blogger Award is the brainchild of CJ at Food Stories – a blog worth checking out on any given day. There are a few requirements of nominees, so here we go:
The Nominee should visit the award site and leave a comment indicating that they have been nominated and by whom.
The Nominee should thank the person that nominated them by posting & including a link to their blog.
See above and below.
The Nominee should include a courtesy link back to the official award site (http://foodstoriesblog.com/illuminating-blogger-award/) in their blog post.
Check x 3.
Share one random thing about yourself in your blog post.
Nap A Day isn’t one person – it’s two. Jill does the writing, and Betty takes all the photos. And, believe us, that’s how you want it. Jill can’t take a decent picture even of such a spectacularly photogenic subject at Ms. P, while Betty always seems to get the perfect shot (here’s a favorite). Meanwhile, Jill crafted this entry from the following message from Betty:

Select at least five other bloggers that you enjoy reading their illuminating, informative posts and nominate them for the award.
This is a tough one. Bella and DiDi (with a little help from Margot) give the sagest advice of all the dogs we know. We’re not sure if it’s a blog or not (or four blogs – we really are confused) but David Tabak is weird and hilarious. The gang at Darim Online have taught us so much about reaching and connecting with others, we think everyone should have a chance to learn from them. Janah is working hard to make no-kill shelters the norm throughout Florida – please give her a show of support. And while we realize that she already gets a lot of recognition (all deserved), we love Deb at Smitten Kitchen.
Many thanks to Fostrickson for nominating Nap A Day. We hope we continue to earn your appreciation. And thank you, CJ of Food Stories, for devising such a delightful exercise in community building. And because we’re living in her world, here’s a picture of Pickles:
