The heat wave finally broke, and we celebrated at a local community concert. Everything started out fine – Pickles played with an adorable little girl, was happy to see our friend, Cindy, and her two dogs, Addie and Grace (more on them next week). She did a few high fives and played “two-hand monte” for treats (she only occasionally guesses correctly, but always wins). Around twilight, she started getting riled up. Some men were trying to shake a toy out of a tree nearby, and the mysterious movement just freaked her out completely. Time to go home. But not before stopping by Judy and George’s house, who live just outside the park and love Pickles (and all animals). However, Ms P was not invited in this evening, as last week she tried to mix things up with Desi the cat. She’s usually a pretty good guest, but we’re taking a break from going inside Judy and George’s house for a while, until the memory fades a bit. As for last night, Pickles sat by their door, transfixed, while the humans chatted on the lawn.
An evening out
