There can be only one

Many years ago, Betty bought a chair. She liked this chair; it was comfortable, came with an ottoman to put her feet up and looked nice by her living room window. Sitting in her chair to read a good book was especially a pleasure.

Since then, the ottoman has been claimed – and renamed “pickleman” – for napping in the sun and monitoring the front yard for other dogs with the audacity to walk by. And now, Pickles wants the chair.

Even though Betty happens to be sitting in it.

I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving last week. My friend Elliot came to visit me. Here we are, after dinner, looking up canine gossip sites. You would not believe the weird stuff Lassie’s assistants had to do!

Thing 1 is also visiting, but being a teenager, doesn’t wake up for breakfast.

Coming home or just coming upstairs, Poppy always gets a hero’s welcome.

Bailey

Our friend Bailey died last week. He was a great dog, a wonderful friend to everyone, and a very good sport.

Despite the photo, he was probably a lousy cook. But that won’t stop Judy and George and the rest of his family (or any of us) from missing him. We have no doubt that Bailey is in dog heaven.
